Juicing For Life

Bestow Juice

Juicing is a wonderful way of extracting the beneficial nutrients out of fruit & vegetables & delivering them directly to our cells. it is said that within 15 minutes of drinking your juice, nutrients are feeding every cell in your body! How's that for a direct hit of goodness?
Juices are incredibly nourishing but as they don't require digesting, almost all the nutrients they contain are utilised by our bodies.
Juices are often a good source of bio available minerals especially calcium, potassium & silicon & a wide range of vitamins & minerals they contain, they also provide you with a whole variety of protective phytochemicals that can  reduce our risk of most common diseases.

Every morning I start my day with a fresh organic juice of beetroot, carrot, ginger & a Leafy green. Kale is one of my favourites but I rotate this with other greens to ensure I am getting all the health benefits.
The juicer you choose is very important. Some rotate at high speeds & create heat, which can damage the delicate nutrients in the juice. For this reason I use masticating juicer that literally chews up the fibres & squeezes out the juice. These types of juicers don't produce any heat so they give you a very high quality juice. I Purchased an Oscar juicer & I am very pleased with the quality of the juice & the ease of cleaning.

A Guide To Good Juicing
There are some easy rules to know to make the best juice.

Make it fresh- make your juice fresh & drink it immediately as they are very prone to oxidisation.

Keep it simple - Don't mix too many different juices. I use a maximum of four but some juice connoisseurs suggest you limit it to three.

Add your oil - juices contain lots of fat soluble vitamins but these will not be assimilated if oil isn't present so I top mine up with a good dollop of Bestow Beauty Oil

Watch your mixes - Fruit juices tend to stir up the toxins & acids & stimulate elimination. Vegetable juices tend to be more soothing, more alkaline & eliminate toxins in a milder way. Don't mix the two in the same drink.

There are six different categories of fruit& vegetables. Only blend each category with the category either side.
So for example, acid fruits can only be mixed with sub-acid fruits or vegetable fruits not leafy greens, root vegetables or sweet fruit.

Sweet Fruit (e.g Grapes, prunes)
Sub-acid Fruit (e.g Apples, pears)
Acid Fruit (e.g Lemons, oranges)
Vegetable Fruit (e.g Tomatoes, cucumber)
Leafy Greens (e.g Spinach, parsley, kale)
Root Vegetables (e.g Carrots, beetroot)

Lastly use organic - use fresh ripe organically grown fruit & vegetables.
I avoid conventionally grown produce because of the concentrated nature of the juice, by using fruit & vegetables treated with spray's you run the risk of getting concentrated amounts of chemicals in your juice.
By using vegetables grown with care we are supplying our bodies with the highest quality of nutrients available.
